Hi, I'm sophomore currently majoring in neuroscience. I am thinking about adding one more chemistry major. But I'm worried about heavy workload to complete both majors and also the possibility to lower my GPA.
can you guys give me second thoughts?
I'm planning to go to research field and I thought double major may help me look a bit outstanding (of course, I love chem) would it worth of my time to do double major?

I feel it would be worth the time if you feel you can tackle it. I would take a couple Chem courses and see how it goes. If it seems like it will bog you down too much, or harm your GPA, then you can just stop taking Chem courses and go back to your original plan. I would also see how starting the major during your second year would possibly delay your graduation.

How many chem classes overlap with your neuroscience curriculum? I would assume several, in which case a double major might be a great idea. Otherwise, I might actually consider doing a chem major and neuroscience minor (depending on your interests within neuroscience). From what I’ve seen, chemistry with some neuroscience electives seems to give a much stronger foundation for graduate school.
