okay so i'm going to MSU's RCAH next year, and i am seriously considering either double majoring or possibly minoring in something. but, i know double majoring will take up a lot of my time and i might not even graduate within 4 years if i do that. so my first question is should i double major or minor in something? if i did this, i would either major/minor in english or philosophy. which do you recommend? and does anyone know someone double majoring and how much of their time does it take up? thanks, let me know what you guys think! :)

I am double majoring and taking a minor AND possibly a concentration. RCAH is specifically designed so that you can easily double major.

However, I am coming in as a sophomore with only one general ed requirement left so it would be a lot more difficult if you need to do all your gen ed requirements.

REMEMBER: In RCAH, you need to be proficient in a second language in order to graduate with a degree in RCAH. My recommendation is that if you want to minor, minor in your target language. If you want to do english + philosophy + do your language, I would recommend that you only minor in English and philosophy OR double major in philosophy because there is a strong English component to philosophy.

Good luck!

thanks a lot that really helped. it’s nice to have a prespective from someone who obviously knows what it is like to double major/minor/concentrate etc. lol. but i think that’s great that you are doing all that at once! again, thanks for the reply. i will probably just do a double major in philosophy :)
