I'm an incoming freshman at Auburn University and am planning a double major for Physics and Aerospace Engineering and have been reading up on the concept of a dual degree. I was just wondering which would be my better option with this combination as I know my school offers both the double major and dual degree programs. I'm planning to get a master's in Aerospace Engineering and a PhD in Astrophysics if it helps at all.

Double degree usually takes longer. In a dual degree program, some requirements are waived/ substituted for others. This is how it works at most schools anyway.

Look into the specifics of each program to see which suits you better. I don’t think it would really matter either way for grad school admissions.
