Double major Psychology & Early Childhood

My daughter is planning a double major in Psychology & Early childhood. After college work a couple of years (with kids) and go to grad school (e.g. educational psychology).
Hendrix has a great Psychology reputation, but education department is quite small and I hear mixed messages.
- Any experience with the Early Childhood program at Hendrix?
- has anybody done this double major (at Hendrix or other school)?

My S is thinking about a double major at Hendrix of psychology and music. He's also looking at some other schools. How do you know Hendrix has a good rep in psych? The dept is awfully small (as is the entire school). I'm worried that he'd have more opptys at a larger univ.

Sorry. Not exactly the response you're looking for, but if you know specifics about the psych dept you could share, that'd be great.

Just because the school is small, doesn't mean there are not as many opportunities there. Since there is no graduate school, undergrad students have a MUCH better chance ayt doing research than at big schools where grad students get priority. Also, from my understanding, their science departments are very strong. In all different departments they send students to big research conferences to present information. From what I saw on my tour of hendrix, the psychology dept. has also received a lot of awards.

My DD just completed her first year at Hendrix. She said there are lots of Psychology majors there, but she doesn't know anyone there pursuing an education major. The sciences are strong at Hendrix. DD is pursuing a double major in Social Justice and French and plans to go to law school when she completes her undergraduate.

The school is very small, but my DD couldn't be happier. Her biggest problem with the size of the school is finding occasional privacy. She said she can go all the way across campus and find an empty bench, sit down and try to read, but people are always coming by and chatting. That's okay 95% of the time, but she would like a bit of privacy/alone time.
