Hey, So I have been accepted to FSU and I really want to be involved in the theatre program and I was looking on their page and I saw they had a BA in theatre that I am very interested in. On the page it talked about having a minor or double majoring in another subject and I was wondering if it would be possible to double major in theatre and possibly economics or political science or something along those lines. I don't really know what I will spend my life doing but I really want to hone my skills in theatre while also having a solid backup plan and I feel like doing a double major would be the best option for me even if it would require me to graduate in 5 years. If I did attend I would start this summer, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You can double major in anything basically. I would recommend talking with your departments they can be a great help in decisions like this. They will also help you with not overwhelming yourself with all the courses needed to graduate for a double major.
I was going to double major but after talking w both departments they were super helpful and straight forward about me not graduating on time if I opted for a double instead of a minor. Since you’re a first year you have plenty of time to change your mind or switch around majors before settling anyway.

The only thing I can say about a double major with theatre, is that you generally have to apply to anything within the School of Theatre directly.

Did you put down Theatre as your intended major when you applied to FSU? If not, I’d probably get in touch with them as soon as you can, to ask them about the BA program. I’m pretty sure that whether it’s the BA or BFA, you have to apply to the major.
