Does anybody here have experience as a double major? More specifically a Media Studies and Political Science double major?

Well what do you want to know?

I was looking at the Media Studies website, through the present and past approved courses, it looks like MS usually has a few PS classes for the elective requirement of MS. If I take PS 3 which is a core requirement for MS and also a pre req for PS as well as two additional PS classes, would the two extra PS classes be able to count towards both the elective requirement of MS and the core requirement of PS?

Sorry if I explained that terribly. I will (fingers crossed) come in a jr. transfer so I don’t really have the chance to talk to an advisor.

You can only count at most two upper division courses to both majors’ requirements (so you cannot, for example, double major in pure math and applied math which have at least four upper division courses in common). However, Political Science 3 is a lower division course, so it is not subject to this limitation.

That’s good to hear. One last question, when do I go for a double major, like right when I get there or after my first semester?

Each major will have its own list of prerequisite courses that you need to complete before declaring it. As a junior transfer, you should have most or all fulfilled, so you would want to declare as soon as you can.
