Double major?

I'm admitted as a CSE freshman...I'm wondering if it possible for me to get a second major or a second degree in Carlson or CLA? Does anyone here know someone has done this before?

I’m assuming its fairly simple for one to double major in CLA, but double majoring in others such as CSOM may be a bit harder. Csom requires like 90/120 to be in Carlson for an UG degree. It may take more than 4 years if you want to double major. Again, it depends on the second major and college.

toby - download the PDF of your major on this link and take a look if you can fit in an extra major. (you can go on the Carlson site and find the same info)

thank u so much kajon. i think i can complete two majors in four years since i have already got 46 credit by taking ap tests…and fulfilled most liberal education requirement. i’m just wondering if the university has any restrictions on double major.

thank u so much kenny. so it sounds like i have to take much more credits than 120 (maybe almost 200 :frowning: ) to get two degrees… but does it require some sort of selective application to take carlson classes and receive a degree or i can just take carlson classes like taking other classes in CSE and receive a degree after fulfilling the degree requirement?

Two DEGREES would mean 240 credits I think (not positive, but 120 for one degree makes me think its the same getting a second).
Two MAJORS means you get a degree, with a major in that subject obviously, plus another major, but no degree for that one. They told me that another major would likely be about 35 more credits, so a total of 155.

Just double major. No point in taking extra requirements such as the the foreign language requirement if you want a degree in CLA. Contact the U’s onestop Office; they should be able to further assist you.

Best of luck.
