are there any reputable schools that will allow one to double major in vocal performance(non-classical, jazz preferably) and music management?
thanks!

The University of Michigan.

Belmont has a great commercial vocal program along with a well-endowed music business school. I bet they have had several students to go thru a performance/music business program. Both programs are very popular.

Hartt also has the five year double major.http://harttweb.hartford.edu/adm-degree-undergrad.htm

James Madison University has a Music Industry program where the students have a major instrument (which can be voice). I believe that the Music Industry students do a senior recital, and take the same amount of private lessons as the performance majors... but I could be wrong on that. It is worth looking into, though.

anymore???

It would be interesting to ask Miami U of Ohio about this. They have a fabulous business program and an okay music program. I know double majors are possible with music performance, but I don't know whether they are with the business school. We have joked about my D getting a double major performance and business and becoming an agent for her brother.

[edit] I just noticed that part about jazz. I don't think there are a plethora of jazz vocal programs around, let alone ones that combine music and business. I looked at Miami's voice info and it appears to be all classical.

Another idea might be to look for schools that allow "create your own" majors.

if there aren't a lot of jazz programs.... id be fine with contemporary vocal performance stuff tooo

Berklee College of Music would be your best bet.
