Can you double major between schools at AU?

For example, I was admitted into SPA for Political Science, but I also want to major in Art History (CAS). Would this be possible?

I am also wondering about this...also, how much longer does it take to double major?

yes, you can double major between the schools

for how long it takes - it depends. usually double majors put you at a total of 150 credits, instead of 120 for a regular major. having AP credits helps, though you can double major even coming in with no credits. however, if you plan accordingly, you can count some classes for each of your majors, as well as count a lot of your gen ed classes for your major - talk to your academic advisors when you register about how to set up your schedule so that you get the most out of every class you take! it may take you a bit longer if the majors are more different and you are starting with no AP credits, but you can always take more than 15 credits each semester, take a class or two one summer, etc. to make sure you will graduate on time...

Lg you're like...the AU guru lol. Thanks for all of your help in the forum :).

LG- if you get a 4 or a 5 on an AP test does that automatically give you the credit or do you need to take the CLEP test? I was reading the course booklet and it kept on making mention of these CLEP tests and I wasn't sure if even after taking the AP tests you needed to take this test to once again prove that you deserve the credit.

I can't tell you that I know what a CLEP test is, though I've heard of them. All you need is just the AP score of 4 or 5 to get credit for courses

There is a link on the bottom left of that page that tells you what classes you get credit for through AP/IB testing.

You can also bypass the math requirement with a 3 on the AP stat or AP calc exams, though you I don't thinkg you get credit for the course, you just don't have to take a math course unless required by your major.

Thanks LG, you really are the AU guru to all of us
