THX GUYS. I AM MAINLY ASKIN ABOUT UMICH BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO ON THE OTHER SCHOOLS PLEASE LET ME KNOW! =)

it is possible to double at some schools, but that also means that it may take longer to graduate because the amount of required credits and the limits of how many credits you can take a semester. At UMich and PSU, it is possible, but it would take a tremendous amount of work and time to work out a double major…i have gotten responses from both schools that i can double but there is no guarentee of graduating in 4 years.
At NYU, i have no idea, but i believe you can at least minor since I’ve heard liberal arts and electives take up a decent portion of students’ credits. I don’t believe you could double at BOCO since it is a conservatory and therefore has no major or minor even that is journalism.
I’m unsure about the rest, but your best bet is to talk to people from the school (people within the MT department and the department you are interested in doubling in) and ask them if it is possible for you to double. Also, if you were in a BA program, you most likely will be able to double since BA’s USUALLY have less major requirements than BFA’s…UCLA is the only BA I’ve heard of that does not allow students to double
UMich definitely lets students double. You must be accepted into both your majors however. MT and whatever else you want to study (unless it is for now, undecided…you have to be admitted into the MT major as well as the College of Literature, Science, and Arts as an undecided major)…hope this helps.

thanks a ton! i guess im going to have to find a way to talk to some people. thanks for all your help. now i have a better idea of what im getting into! =)

With Michigan, it depends on what major you want to double in. Some majors come with an insane amount of credits (i.e. Psychology) so those ones are nearly impossible. There are others such as a language or Math that are very possible. Several students at the musical theater department take up double majors and manage to complete them.
