I was wondering if it is possible to do a double major in engineering and international studies.

I believe it is possible. Call admissions. They would know for sure.

That would be a dual degree

There is no official Engineering and IR major like the Huntsman Program with Wharton and the College, but if you apply to SEAS, you can apply for a dual degree in the College after your freshman year, provided you have a 3.0 GPA. From there, completing a dual degree is extremely possible since there is a lot of carry-over between Engineering and College general requirements.

It is easier to get accepted to the College than to Engineering once you are already at Penn, so ideally you would apply to and enroll in SEAS, but if you are stronger in English, Social Studies and foreign language, and if forced to choose between SEAS and CAS you would choose CAS, apply to the College first and then to Engineering freshman year. You need to get accepted before you can dual degree, and your best chances of acceptance come when you apply to whichever school suits your passions best.

Does this double majoring also work for SEAS and Wharton? Yes, I know there’s the M&T program, but is it possible to to do a double major of engineering and business if you aren’t in the program?

yep, but you need to apply for the degree in the other school (as noted countless times, easier to apply from wharton to seas, rather than from seas to wharton, due to the gpa requirement)

I would say it is almost nigh impossible to do Dual-Degree Engineering and Wharton if you aren’t in M&T simply due to the massively different major requirements as well as the extensive credit requirements of all Engineering majors.
