double majoring at UMich

Hey everyone. I have decided to either double major in econ/math at the university of michigan or major in econ and just minor in math...

Can anyone help me with the credit requirement difference between the two or a link that will show me the difference?? I have had trouble finding anything...

I feel there should be overlaps and would just like to see how many more credits minoring in math would add and how many more credits double majoring in math would add. I would greatly appreciate the help!

thanks :)

econ major: [Department of Economics, University of Michigan](http://lsa.umich.edu/econ/ug/concentration)

math minor: [UM Mathematics-UG Minor](http://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/undergrad/minor.shtml)
math major: [UM Mathematics-UG Concentration](http://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/undergrad/concentration.shtml)

math cognates here, there are econ ones listed: [UM Mathematics](http://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/undergrad/cognates.shtml)

with a quick read, a major in pure mathematics requires one cognate, of which there are 4+ econ courses listed. 401/402 which are requirements for the econ degree would satisfy it I think

One suggestion made on the Math page is Mathematical Economics/Economics double major.

Both Actuarial Math and Financial Math also allow Econ classes. Depending on what you were aiming for, one of these might be good.
