Double majoring in Psychology

Hey all,
I am a freshman at Stern, and I am thinking about double majoring outside of Stern. Will this decision have any implications when looking for a job or applying to a grad school?

I have an option of d-majoring in another business field (instead of psychology etc.) but I am not too eagar to take so many business classes throughout college.

No, of course it won't have any negative implications - especially if your majoring in only finance. In fact, if you're going to a grad school, it would be better for you to have a major in a liberal arts field (you gain valuable writing and analytical skills). Plus, NYU's psychology department is one of the best in the nation.

thanks for your input North Dakota.

I am thinking about majoring in marketing, though. I know Stern is known as the financial powerhouse, but I would like to become a strategy consultant.. and I would rather like to develop my analytical abilities through marketing than 'number-crunching' skills (finance).

hopefully stern non-finance degree is not looked down upon by my future employers. And even if it does, I don't incline to major in something that I am not passionate about just for writing-the-resume purposes.
