Is it possible to double major in the college of Liberal Arts at Cal Poly? I was thinking of adding onto my English major with Political Science. If not, what do you suggest I do? (In terms of minoring or switching majors.)

It will depend on how many credits you come in with from AP Tests. My son came in with a bunch and is planning on a major and 2 minors. He has done the math and believes that it is possible. I told him to double check with a CLA adviser. I assume that you are going in in the fall as a freshman? If so you will be block scheduled for the first quarter. Before registration for winter quarter make an appointment with an adviser and try to map it out.

I am in my third year here, and I’ve never heard of anyone double majoring. Double minoring, yes, majoring no. I’m not even sure it’s allowed. I’m almost positive it’s not allowed in the college of engineering, and I’m in the college of liberal arts, and don’t know anyone in my major or in any other liberal arts major who is double majoring. A lot of people have minors though.
