One of the schools I might want to transfer into after community college for 2 years is UCLA. I am planning to be an Economics/International Studies major, for which only a whopping 13% get in (yeah, really tough). I was wondering if double majoring it with Business Economics (which admits also only 15%) would affect my chances of getting into UCLA?

btw, I go to Foothill and plan to do the UCLA Transfer Alliance agreement thing (which supposedly doubles my chances of getting in). I also work about 25 hours a week and hope (hope) to do some student activities (clubs, student body boards) starting next quarter or next year.

So my question is, if you don't wanna read the top part, do you think it would increase my chances of transferring into UCLA if I major in Business Economics (15% transfer rate) along with my current Economics/International Studies major (13% transfer rate)?

No don't think so--as far as I know, the UCs consider you for a primary major and not on the basis of anything else. Correct me if I'm wrong someone--or no scratch that, you're fine either way as you'll get in with TAP.

A. You can not major in Biz econ and International Areas Econ. They are within the same department.
B. You get accepted into the Econ Department and CAN switch majors within that department if you want once your in UCLA.
C. You can NOT apply to double major even if it was within two other majors. You apply to only one major and when you are at UCLA you have to complete all PReqs for Both majors and 2 upper division courses from EACH major then you can petition to double major- then and ONLY then.
D. If you want a higher chance of addmission then apply to Biz ECon if your statistics are correct that they admit 15% however, dont they also have a much higher applicant pool-of highly qualified applicants
