I got accepted into BC and I am thinking of double majoring in political science and sociology. Would my workload basically double? Anyone who has experience or knows of someone double majoring, even if the majors are different, can put their input here.

Yes it is totally doable to double major in totally different fields. I would just warn you to do it for the right reasons-don't major in one field because of a future job and one field because it is what you actually like. Any major can lead to any career. HOwever, if you are truly passionate and curious about both topics go for it!

Its pretty easy in those fields. Double majoring in History and Physics would probably be impossible to do in only four years

At the Eagle Eye session I went to today, they made double-majoring sound extremely easy. Especially with the ability to skip core courses with AP scores, more and more students seem to be doing it and still graduating on time.

Thanks for the input guys!

Cause AP exams are approaching and I had no incentive to really study for them. But if I am double majoring, I'll try to do well so that I can fullfill the basic core requirements and take more classes in my field of study.

D doubled majored in History and English and had a minor in Irish Studies, plus spent her junior year in England. She still had room to take some other courses that she was interested in during her senior year! Her APs waived her out of quite a few of the core courses as blinkangel44 mentioned ^^

D is in LSOE and she is required to double major. I'm not sure if it is just because she is in El. Ed. or if it is a LSOE requirement.
