i'm not exactly sure where to post this, but......

just wondering, why exactly do people double major and/or minor? does it really benefit you in the long run? if someone majored in one area and minored in another, different area, and then later finds that the minor is really what he/she likes, would that someone still be able to get a job/would that minor do that indivudual good, still? sorry if i'm confusing..

Many people decide to minor in a particular subject because they originally started majoring in that subject but later decided to switch majors. They find that they are only a couple of courses away from minoring so they go through with it. Did that make sense? haha.

Some people are so focused on getting multiple degrees and minors that they forget it usually takes much longer and significantly lowers their GPA- thus killing their chances for graduate/professional school. I think it's better to just stick to one degree and finish strong.

Well, in my case I want to major in history, but since I know that wont really help me find a well-paying job I'm going to double major History and something else. Or maybe minor in History, only because I love learning about History but my passion is making money.
