double majoring with economics

What is a good major to do with economics if I want to double major?

Where will most job opportunities be?

I'm not certain if a Double Major could be beneficial. But I read someone saying that why double major if the person who hires you will only need you for one type of job (ie: Finance) which makes sense... I could be wrong though..

more job opportunities?

Double major can definitely be beneficial as long as the second major is related to the type of job you are applying for. The best choice to pair with econ depends on what you want to do after college.

I'm a double major in History and Economics. Leaves both law school and business school as potential options.

ure majoring in history for law school? As long as you get a high LSAT score and high GPA your major doesn't matter you can major in north pole studies its irrelevant. If you like history that's one thing but if don't its pointless.

The best major to go with economics would be math. That would make you much more attractive than mere econ majors for jobs in the financial sector, an industry with virtually endless opportunities. It would also give you a chance at graduate school in economics should you become interested in that option later on. (most econ programs in the US do not adequately prepare you for this on their own) The more rigorous math training would all but ensure you score 800 or very close to it on the GRE quant section. Law school would also still be a viable option, especially since math majors and economics majors score highest on the LSAT (along with philosophy majors).

This is, of course, assuming you are not afraid of math.
