double majoring

Hello, I'm currently a biology major, about to be a second year. I was wondering what the process was for applying for another major? I'd like to add a major in environmental science. I believe they are in different departments so that should be okay. What is the minimum GPA needed to be accepted into the major? You need to finish all the prereqs and a few of the upper div classes before you petition for the second major, right? Also, I'm wondering how I can do this and deal with the max # of units...because I have 91.5 units already, which gives me junior status..uh oh. Yeahhh. I tried to look it up but I was still very confused haha. Any advice? Thanks!

I’m not sure, but I was just looking at this. It might help.

how strict are they about the unit max petition? is it difficult to get it approved?

When I talked to my counselor he said that the petitions are generally approved if you show that you can still graduate in only 4 years.

oh alright thanks. another question - is it worth it to double major in environmental science and bio?
