Double majoring

I want to major in finance. I will probably come in with a lot of credits next year (assuming I do well on my AP exams, which I think I will). How hard would it be to double major in finance and accounting or finance and economics? About how many extra credit hours will I have to take?

as far as how hard it would be, i think that really just depends on whether or not you can handle a heavy course load. we all know our limits, and if you dont think you will have a problem go for it/ and those Ap credits will surely help you out get 4-5s most 3s probably wont be taken

The business school doesnt allow double majoring anymore. If you’re interested in accounting though, check out the Professional Program in accounting. Its a 150 hour track (thats the amount of hours you need to sit for the CPA in Texas) where you get your bachelors degree in accounting and then your masters in any business field of your choosing, including finance.

Vyse, I don’t think that’s true? I just visited in February and I was accepted to Business Honors; I had a meeting with a Mays academic advisor and she told me 99% of Business Honors students double major in BH and another major. However, I’m not sure if that’s just a business honors thing, since the BH major is more of an addition of certain courses than a separate major.

Found out it’s only business honors.
