Hi. I was thinking about double majoring and wanted to see what other people thought about it. I was thinking about majoring in Physics and Japanese....i know they are two different fields but do you think its doable?

Shouldn't be a big problem, but you might consider a minor in Japanese instead, which would be very easy.

doable, just plan out your classes ahead of time

How about in similar fields? Civil Engineering and Architecture for example.

Since I don't want to make another thread to ask a similar question, I going ask it in this thread: Is it doable to major in Chemistry and minor in Mechanical Engineering and Biology? I'm going to apply as a transfer after I do the IGETC requirements and assist.org classes. Will the course load still be too much?

Ambitious; It'll be difficult as a transfer student because you'll be adjusting to a new academic environment that will no doubt be more competitive if you are coming from a community college, and by taking more courses you will have less time to explore what Berkeley has to offer (research, volunteer, activites, etc).

Double majoring in civil eng and architecture would be near impossible.
I don't think the bureaucracy at Cal would even allow it. Aside from that, the time required for architecture projects would seriously cut into studying time for your civil eng courses.

I would choose one or the other...architecture if you have a more artistic/design mindset, civil engineering if you have a more math/physics/construction interest.

On the contrary, I have a friend doubling in architecture and CE.. although she is always stressed out, she seems to have everything under control.
