can you do it (theoretically, if you can fit all the classes in) with any two majors? I'm just a bit confused. On the list of undergrad majors and minors, some have an asterisk that says "available as a second major". Does that mean that those are the only second majors you can take?

I don't think it makes sense, so I doubt it, but I'm just checking.

How often can one count a class for both of two majors if the majors are related?

FYI I am interested in English and in International Letters and Visual Studies (film emphasis). Perhaps a minor in Film Studies? (I have a lot of AP credits - about a semester's worth. That is, at the very least least 4, as many as 7.)

You can take any combination of two majors. The ones listed as "available as second major" are majors you MUST take in addition to another major; but it can be any one. All other majors can be taken singly, or doubly... or triply (but, seriously!).

I think you can double-count about 4 classes for 2 majors; but it may vary across disciplines.

If you double-major in English and ILVS, it's really unncessary that you also do a minro in Film Studies. You'll get all the film you want in ILVS.

Good to know... but I just like the way it sounds - "film studies" :) rolls off the tongue much more easily. Anyway, even outside the ILVS, I would probably take enough extra film classes to get the minor, knowing me. I'm graduating HS with almost double the English department and Social Studies department classes I need, in a similar vein.
