Double Mini-Suites

This might be a stupid question, but what exactly are the double mini-suites in units 1 and 2? Since I thought that in the other units there were doubles in a suite, and the "mini" is throwing me off.
Does it still mean that there are two rooms (4 people)? Or is it just a roomier version of the regular double? (I feel like the whole "mini-suite" thing implies that it's just a big double room for two...)

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

also--can mini suites be triple?

That's an option on the housing app, so I think there can be triple mini-suites.

they certainly are roomier than normal 2 person dorms. as far as i know, they are given priority to regent's scholars.

here's some info

The mini-suite buildings, Christian and Slottman Halls, feature:
Recently constructed mid-rise buildings.
Approximately 215 students in each hall.
Spacious double and triple occupancy rooms.
Each suite has a dedicated bathroom.

i'm not sure what the 'mini's' there for, but physical, there are two rooms connected via a small central room (6 feet by 5 feet?) to a bathroom and the hallway. Some suites consist of one double room and one triple room, so five people. I don't think any have two triples. Most have two doubles- not that many triples exist in the mini suites.

It's roomier but has some draw backs- it's a bit more isolated than the high rises because of there are fewer people for hall, you're less forced to leave the room (primarily because of the bathroom in suite as opposed to shared with the hall), and people are less likely to just see what's going on inside because there are two doors so they're harder to keep open and you can't see 70% of the room by just glancing in from the hall like you can in the high rises. However, they're brand new, nicer, larger, the furniture is great, and you can certainly make friends in them. To maximize friends, i'd say go with the high rises, but the niceness and greater expense is worth it for many. mini suites also lack the cooler ground floor lounge . . . but yah. Good luck.

Hey Drab,
I'm going to be in a Triple in a Mini-suite and I was wondering what type of furniture are in the mini-suites and if there is a couch inthe living room that connects the two suites

danishboy, there isn't a "living room" in those mini-suites in slottman, christian, and such...it's more like a small area that leads to the bathroom and your suitemates room...however, there are common lounges (with couches) on the floors depending on what floors you live on...i think the odd numbered floors have lounges whereas the even number floors have laundry rooms...trust me, my friend lived in slottman this past semester but she was in a double
her room consisted of two closests w/ drawers (one on each side), two twin beds of course (with drawers on the side of the bed), two desks and that's about it

Did you ever find the answer? Tell me for next year!
