I've never taken a double period before but now am taking AP Chem and was wondering if for GPA purposes they are taken in to account like 2 classes (grade put in twice)?

I wouldn’t think it would count twice as much, but it really depends on your school. At my school, double periods are usually two related subjects, such as BC Calculus and Physics C. Obviously, your grade in each of those classes counts toward your GPA, making the double period count double. But if it’s the same class, I would think it counts single.

Chem is the same way at my school, and it’s only counted once.

Do you get 2 separate grades for the class? If so, it probably is counted as 2 different classes. But, its more likely that it only counts for 1 grade, since it seems like its just AP Chem, not two subjects merged together and called AP Chem…

Well when I was a freshman I had to do two periods of English because that was are school policy. On my report card it stated that the two periods of english Is two grades. For example one was just English writing and the other was reading. Perhaps you school have somewhat of the same policy but then again idk. Ask a the teacher?

I have AP Chem for two periods. It says AP Chem for 3rd period and Chem 2 for 4th period. If on your schedule it’s distinguished then it’s two weights. If on your schedule it counts it as two credits then it’s two weights.

Its not distinguished but it does say that its worth 2 credits. No it is one grade. Basically period 1 is classroom and period 2 is lab. I ask my counseling tomarrow but was wondering since AP Chem is a standard College Board class. Thanks anyway
