Double Science vs Marching Band

I was wondering whether I should double science or continue marching band.
I've been in marching band for 2 years so far.

Option A
Drop band, double science junior and senior year, take PE senior year to finish credit. Participate in band outside of school hours.
Option B
Keep band, double science senior year only, self study junior year.

Looking at top UCs, MIT, CMU, Harvey Mudd, other top math/science/technology schools.

I would stick with marching band. It’s great to have 4 years of an EC on a college app–plus it’s a great social aspect of high school.

Do you love marching band? If so, then I think you should stay in it. If not, then quit. I quit marching band this year because I wanted to take more classes and band took up SO much time xD.

I do like marching band, but is taking 2 sciences better than it?

If your other classes are basket weaving, tanning, pizza tossing, and pig Latin, then keep the two sciences.

If you already have a full schedule of challenging classes, stay in the band.

Are there schools that recruit band members?

My son wanted more science, but also wanted to stay in marching band. He took an on line physics course through BYU, and got high school credit for it.

He just started at Berkeley last week.
