Double up with both Math and Science (10th grade)? *2018

Hello! I just joined this site because I saw another very similar thread discussing this same topic. I will format this about the same way, but my situation is slightly different.
I go to a private school and will be a sophomore next year, but I am a bit ahead in math and science courses (I also doubled up last year). If I double up my schedule would look like this:

  1. Accelerated physics
  2. Pre-Calculus
  3. AP Statistics
  4. Chemistry
  5. French II
  6. English II
  7. World History
  8. Theology II

I don’t necessarily have to do this but so far I have always enjoyed math and science and challenging myself academically.
I would love to hear all of your opinions about this, and what you think. Thanks!

What would your alternative courses be if you did not double up, and what is your motivation to double up?

The reasons I want to double up are because I enjoy math and science, to prove to myself that I can, and it impresses colleges. I definitely want to double up in science, so the other alternative would be to replace AP Stats with something else. This would probably be with one semester long class required for graduation plus some other semester course.

Colleges don’t expect you to take more than 1 core class a year. You can but they also like to see non core classes such as computer science, engineering, business, art etc. Sometimes it is the non core classes that can help set you apart. Basically take what you want but don’t do it to impress colleges.

Thats good to know. Thanks!

I would, but make sure that you then take core classes Junior and Senior year, as colleges like to see if a candidate can succeed in most if not all areas of study.
