The Testing Section of the CommonApp asks me

“International applicants: Is promotion within your educational system based upon standard leaving examinations given at the end of lower and/or senior secondary school by a state or national leaving examinations board? (Students studying in the US typically answer no to this question.)”

What exactly does that mean? What should I answer here?
(I passes ICSE in class 10 and CBSE in class 12 - I think the question might have something to do with this but I’m not sure)

You’ve to check the ‘Yes’ box because promotion to the next grade is based on your performance in the ‘board examination’ in both CBSE and ICSE.

The answer to this question for everyone under CBSE and ICSE will be “yes” as we are only promoted to the next class after we pass the exams for the previous class.
