Douglas or New Rez?

I need some input on choosing between Douglas and New Rez. I initially thought I definitely wanted to choose New Rez, but then I went and visited the campus. New Rez seemed.. really impersonal. Douglas is beautiful and seems to really have a community feel. I'm still having trouble deciding though. The New Rez food seems amazing, and seemed to have more options for vegetarians, which I am. Also, there's air-conditioning and you get your own bathroom :). But yeah, as I said it didn't seemed to have a community feel, and the girls I saw seemed to fit the stereotype I had heard about. I've heard about a lot of people having great experiences at Douglas as well. What is the food at Douglas like? Anyway, sorry about this post being really rambling, but if anyone here has any experience with these two residences I would appreciate your opinion.

Wondering exactly the same thing.

All I know is that amongst most of the school, those who live in New Rez are seen as the "rich spoiled kids." It's the only rez I visited when I went, but I mean, it really felt like just a hotel room. Probably because it actually is, but it just didn't feel very individual to me. I'd much rather stay in one of the regular dorms, or even Solin, which seems like it would be a super awesome place to stay.

4 star hotel

I stayed with my friend in Gardner (close to douglas i think) but it was nice, all singles with co-ed bathrooms, but everyone has their doors open and is really engaging. you'll basically be friends with everyone in your hall

I live in New Rez, and yes, there is a stigma associated with New Rez, but then again, it’s a stereotype, and given that 700 people live in New Rez, those girls you see only make up a small fraction of it (and you may be surprised when getting to know a few of those girls you speak of!). Although it’s a large rez, there are about 50 people to a floor, so there is a lot of floor bonding, yet you still have the option of meeting so many different individuals outside of your floor because the rez is actually quite diverse.

A Douglas single was my first choice, and I thought if I had to have a roommate, New Rez would be the better option because it’s a larger room. I also hear Douglas has an amazing community feel to it.
