Well, thank you, Bama, for I have finally learned how to cut and paste.

When I went to the section of the honors app, I used browse to get the file for the resume son prepared for that section. But I don’t know what to do from there.

Of course, this happened after five, when I couldn’t call Bama. Hoping someone here (Mom, perhaps?), can tell me where to go from here.

Also, is there a late hour IT help line at Bama?

And lastly, now that we’ve done the Honors app, can we apply for University Fellows? That has a deadline soon, doesn’t it?

We had wind/rain earlier. Are we supposed to get more?

I hope not! Tomorrow is University Days at UA, so I’m hoping Alabama shows off its typical pretty blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

LOL…One thing I learned when I moved to this state is this…never look out a window and see sunny skies and guess the temp during the late fall thru spring. It can look GORGEOUS - blue skies and fluffy clouds - but actually be cold or chilly. I know that DS1 made that mistake a few times in his dorm. He’d look out the window, think it was warm and dress for that, then go down the elevator and walk out only to discover it was cold!

Glad to hear it does get cold up there! Son is really wanting to go north, but hoping this will be a good compromise. Please say he’ll see snow!

UA actually has gotten snow for one day for the past 2 years…but I can’t say he’ll always get a day of snow. Not a ton of snow, just an inch or two that is gone by the afternoon.

I know that snow is “cute” (and it is!!!), but dealing with snow and that kind of cold gets OLD very quickly to those of us who aren’t used to it. Keeping track of gloves, hats, scarves, etc, just isn’t part of our “routine” - nor is heavy winter coats, wool socks, and snow-friendly shoes.

lol montegut, he will see about an inch per year of actual snow, but the hysteria of a blizzard!! its a southern thing that when the weatherman says “chance of snow” bread and milk will fly off the shelves of stores, schools will be cancelled, most community activities will be cancelled. all the benefits without the actual cold wet stuff.

Thanks mom2collegekids,
I’m also applying to UFE, they emailed me today saying I me extra time because I wasn’t notified of eligibility until today.

Would/Should I use the same resume for both or should I tweak it to focus more on what each program is looking for?

Also do you have any hints or suggestions on what would improve my chances of acceptance into the programs.

Are you asking if you should use the same resume for UFE as CBHP?

If there’s something in particular that you think would make your UFE resume more appropriately focused, then certainly include that.

Remember that UFE does not consist of courses (like CBHP); it’s more of a group of smart kids who are using their talents to develop programs for the betterment of others - particularly those who are in need. The kids divide themselves up according to their talents and work together. (If someone else has a better description, then please correct or add to mine).

Therefore, if there’s something that you can put on your UFE resume that indicates that you’re the right person for UFE, then include that. :)
