Downward GPA trend?

I hear all this talk about having to have a upward GPA trend to get into a good college....and idk if it applies to me.

I'm in a downward trend, and there's nothing I can do to help it(Our school doesn't let us take anything past Honors in Fresh+Soph, so we're bombarded with APs in Jr and Sr - which are really hard)

I have 4.0s from Freshman and Soph year, but now in Jr year I'm sitting on a 3.7 which I'll probably bring up to 3.8 at the end of the year.

Considering I had relatively "good" grades, is it still important that I maintain an upward trend?

Its always important to shoot for high grades. If you really work hard your senior year to get basically all A’s then they will see that you know how to adapt to a new course load even though it was a little rough to start.
