I got a 3.9X first semester, a 3.7X second semester, and a 3.4X this past semester. I messed up big time, not really putting much effort into my school work. But I did have my funnest semester yet. :)

Basically I didn't need good study habits for my first two semesters, and now it came back to bite me in the ass. I want to go to grad school. I also want to get a REU this summer. I know that I will have to work hard next semester, and that I will do whatever it takes to get a 3.9+ next semester.

Will this past semester screw me over for summer REU positions? I am a female and I have some research experience (no publications or major awards). Should I just ignore my poor performance this past semester in my applications and focus on my experience and interest?
