Im applying to Michigan State University this September, and while my grades are good enough from what I've heard, Im a little worried about a downward trend. Going into my junior year I was on track for around a 3.7, but unfortunately I took a more challenging work load and had to battle through semesters of a 3.3.

This brought my GPA to a 3.54 and now i have a 27 on the ACT (although it may improve). So I guess my question is, is the downward trend very significant, and what are the possibilities of me getting deferred, or even denied? I do have some extracurricular and volunteer work, but not really that much. I can go into more detail if it helps.

I figured this would be a good place to find help, because no else seems to know much about this. Thanks is advance.
