I’ve heard these two schools are comparable and I have been admitted to and am considering both. Bradley isn’t quite as expensive as Drake, but I like each for different qualities.
SO-- Which is the greater school, and why? (in general as well as in particular for an education major).
Thanks!
Drake is better academically accross the board, with 44% in the top 10% of their class, but especially for languages and social sciences, while Bradley is better for the sciences. Both have 3.7 average GPA for the entering class.
Bradley’s average ACT is 26, with 13% students at 30 or higher, whereas Drake’s average ACT is in the 27-28 range, with 26% above 30.
55% students graduate in 4 years at Bradley, and 66% at Drake.
88% Bradley and Drake freshmen finish their first year strong and return for sophomore year.
Both have small, interactive classes (most of which are under 20 students).
Drake is in Des Moines, a big college town ( a plus!), when Bradley is in Peoria, which is less pleasant for college students in my opinion but which you may like better (this is subjective!)
97% Drake students live on campus (hence a lively campus in the evenings and on weekends) and 30% students are in Greek life, while 90% Bradley students live on campus and about 30% join Greek life.
