Dreading Frosh-O???

Just wondered if anyone else is dreading Frosh-O as much as my daughter???

She looked at the schedule and is very stressed about it. She understands the ice breaking activities, etc. and the bonding exercises but is totally stressed out about the little amount of time she will have to get settled in before having to go to all these planned activities.

It doesn't help that she saw how exhausted her brother was during his Frosh-O several years ago. I have to admit I did think it was a bit ridiculous that before starting one of the most important weeks of their lives, these kids are operating on very little sleep from all the scheduled activities. After seeing my son resemble a zombie during his Frosh-O, I always thought they should have some alternate activity to the late hours and mayhem of DomerFest.

She just wants to get her little room set up, organized and be ready to start the week fresh.

Our son said there were a number of kids who felt this way. Any of yours?

My son’s experience was quite different. He loved Frosh-O and met some lifelong friends that weekend. Everyone is different, but my son felt it was a great way to meet everyone. Additionally, both my kids loved Domerfest.

Maybe it’s just me or my son, but we both thought Frosh-O was a wonderful weekend. He seemed to have plenty of time to get settled especially since they don’t start school and until Tuesday. He loved it so much he was on the Frosh-O staff his sophomore year. He and my daughter loved Domerfest. But like smd640 said everyone is different. It’s too bad she’s dreading one of my son’s best weekends at Notre Dame.

I know it seems like a packed weekend, but there will be lots of time in between events to get everything organized. Frosh-O is a lot of fun, and it will hopefully help to ease the transition to college life for your DD. Attitude is half the battle!

If anything, I’d be much more worried about Dis-O…
