Given that you'll still live with the same family members as now, what is your dream house?

for me:
*grand rooms with dressing rooms/bathrooms in each for every member of the family
*a giant kitchen and a dining room- nothing antique or something like that. i like modern designs and colors!
*two living rooms-one in the first floor and one in the second floor- with big screen tvs and sound system
*a big room that is semi-underground if you know what i mean. a place to just hang that is not too dark
*staircase that does not have any carpet on. somethign that looks classy but modern. winding's good.
*a study for all of the family members with computers. a good graphic-designing one for me
*a giant pool
*a small garden with a mini waterfall and a comfy bench that swings

i was being semi realistic. its no mansion like bill gates's, but i think this is my dream house as of now. how about you?

My home would include a "private screening" movie room with comfortable sofas and love seats spaced out on a multi-level floor, a 20'x10' screen, seating for about 25-30 people, wireless earphones that automatically translate movies into multiple languages, and remote control ordering of refreshments.

I would use the space more for my legitimate theater friends to come perform "works in progress" written by my "playwright in residence!"

My home would be in Marin County (California) overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Hm…a two story house on a large lake with a private dock and boat house...with lots of windows and high ceilings. Oh, and definitely hardwood floors all over minus stone in kitchen and baths.

Specifically? Possibly:
1st Floor
*large family room
*big kitchen that's really open to family and dinning rooms
*walk-in pantry
*nice dinning room
*office/study
*master bed and bath with separate walk in closets…and French doors leading to large deck/patio
*the whole half bath thing
*laundry room
2nd Floor
*game room with outside stairs leading to said large deck/patio
*two beds and shared bath

I’m probably leaving something off, but whatever.

But that would be my future house...not one I'm just moving out of in 20 days anyway. I like my parents’ house. I wouldn’t change it.

Mine would be located in Toronto, in one of the beautiful, ritzy, tree-lined residential neighborhoods just off the action of Bloor Street West and a stone's throw from the University of Toronto campus. It would be big and very old -- 19th century Victorian-style estate, inside and out. Tons of art and busts and a giant personal library filled with thousands of rare books and manuscripts, where I would have my study. And a butler named Jeeves.

naomi cambell had her house on cribs around a year ago and it was GORGEOUS. i've never seen another house on cribs like it. it was literally right on the coast with a stairs that lead into the water and it also flowed under some of the house. it was like a huge luxurious tropical tent thingy, you know like those wooden houses see one vacation beaches. yeah like that, except a lot bigger. and her whole house was "open" to the outside. ok that's really hard to picture from my description.

House schmouse, it's all about penthouse condos.

Vancouver - Penthouse condo's in the newly built UniverCity neighbourhoood near the Simon Fraser University campus. The neigbourhood is surrounded by lots of trees but also is situated on a mountain so you get an amazing view of the Vancouver skyline as well as the ability to see the mountain in Washington State which I forget the name of.

Toronto - Penthouse condo ideally in Yorkville because it's close enough to Bay St (the financial centre) that I can just walk there when I need to do business but far enough away that the neighbourhood doesn't die at 6PM. A lot of street artists in the area, nice stores, hot women, beautiful urban surroundings and the subway is just a 2 minute walk away. Other alternatives, would probably be a modest regular house located just outside High Park station.

Montreal - No doubt about it, penthouse condo in Old Montreal or the Old Port. Awesome nightlife, very French neighbourhood, hot women and nice cobblestone paved streets.

For me, a dream house is so much the house (or condo) but where it's located.

WOW!! Mac C Da Pimp's crib is nothing short of luxury's prototype. I can only hope to be blessed enough to be able to afford a crib like that someday.
WOW, WHAT A HOUSE!

I hope that you all realize that the only one of you who has a one-in-a-million chance of getting one of those dream houses is San. The odds of making the multi-million $ salaries or bonuses that it takes to buy one of those places is so low that you have the same chance of hitting the lottery.
Think about the millions of homes, condos and apartments in the country and the minscule # of megahomes.
Don't want to break your dreams but most of those homes were owned by celebrities, not folks who actually have regular jobs.

Uh...my "dream home" isn't that out of the ordinary.

A few months ago I found one that was about 2480 sq feet and very similar to my description (plus several more things I hadn't listed) priced at $235,000.

That's not exactly out of the question for someone going into BME (especially since I'll probably marry a guy in a similarly high paying job, as well)
