Hey guys.
So NYU Stern is my dream school, will you please do me the huge favor of chancing me for ED and answering my basic questions?

Here are my stats coming off Junior year:
3.9 GPA weighted (coming from a competitive school)
maybe a 3.5 unweighted
33 ACT
1 AP class through junior year, 4 AP classes senior year
-Founded a small nonprofit
-Marketing intern at a business development center
-Web and marketing coordinator for a local business
-President of Community Service Club
-Key Club Treasurer Senior Year
-A couple honor societies

Honestly, what are my odds of getting in? I realize that my GPA and number of AP's taken are on the low side.

Additionally, would NYU see my senior year if I applied ED2? Would this be better than applying ED1?

Thank you so much.

Anybody have thoughts?

What are your individual scores on the ACT? What APs have you taken? Is your gpa weighted due to honor classes? SATIIs? Any sports, other activities-music, theater,DECA? What state do you reside in? Can you afford to apply ED? You will be obligated to take FA.

34 eng 32 math 31 reading, 33 science.
Took AP Comp Sci and AP Calc AB.
Will take AP Gov, AP Micro, AP Micro maybe BC, APES.
Yes, I have taken almost all honors classes.
Track 2 years, key club 4 years, etc.
I reside out of state, and can afford to apply (I’m confused why I would be obligated to take FA)
Thank you

EDII is in Jan so they will get to see your first term grades. It will give you a chance to show an upward trend so make sure your grades are top. They are very impt. especially if one has a slightly lower GPA and want to prove to AOs that you are able to handle their course load and rigor. Especially if you are taking 4 APs senior year.

Don’t worry too much about the number of APs you have taken as long as you have taken the most rigorous/challenging classes that are offered in your school. Perhaps your school does not offer that many APs or they have a strict prerequisites to take APs. Your school profile will tell the AOs what type of courses you are offered, grading system, rigor, class size, etc. and will also evaluate you in relation to your peers.

You are not obligated to take FA if you don’t need it.

Good luck senior year.

Awesome, thank you so much! Any other general reviews/advice?

I meant if you apply ED you must take financial package. Sorry didn’t word correctly. Your best shot will be Ed or EDII. if you go RD or even EDII you may be competing with kids rejected by Wharton. I recommend EDI. your math score is on the low side for Stern. Try to raise that part of your ACT in Sept or October. The rest of your scores are fine. GPA’s are difficult to evaluate since every school grades differently. The ACTs are more indicative of how you will perform in college. I think you need a 34 in math for Stern.

I am hesitant to believe you need a 34 in math, but I definitely appreciate the advice. Anybody else?

Well when they have 500 spots, 8500 applicants and 35%-40% yield–someone calculated it was a 15% acceptance rate. Stern will look closely at your math scores. You have nothing to lose-NYU super scores. Your resume sounds good for Stern. play up your nonprofit and job experience.
