<p>I really want your opinions on my chances at UF.</p>
<p>Academics
-4.1 UF gpa
-28 ACT(retaking in september)
-Taken 4 ap classes and 5 more senior year the rest honors and 1 dual enrollment </p>
<p>Extracurriculars
- 4 years of cross country and track and captains of both
-3 years of mu alpha theta and vice president of it
- going to be in NHS and class of 2013 senior year
- have 200 volunteer hours</p>
<p>Hooks
- dad is an alumni
- I'm African American

<p>My first impression was that you are borderline, until I saw that you were African American. Given that fact, I think you have a good chance. But just to be sure, try to raise your ACT score. A 29 or a 30 would be good. And do-able. My son raised his score from a 31 to a 34, with zero studying, so mere familiarity with the exam will probably help you. Also, if you are in the top 10% of your class, that would help.</p>
<p>You’re in. Based on your academic performance, you are doing good. Not amazing.
And your sports are great, however fairly generic extracurriculars. Having said that, with a parent alumni and being African American, I’d say your probably in!</p>
<p>Thank you for the replies… I was an idiot my freshman and sophomore years but then junior year I straightened out so their is also an upward trend. I also am on their recruitment list for sports do that may help. And one question, I emailed them and they said race has no part in admissions? Is that really true?</p>
