<p>One thing OP might want to keep in mind is that student jobs in NYC are easier to find and pay better. OP on her visit might want to ask about Barnard Sitters. They charge a lot (to parents – welcome to Manhattan)</p>
<p>Barnard made my daughter’s life. She would definitely have incurred this loan to attend. PM me if you want details. These are very different experiences, and Barnard is unique.</p>
<p>You can easily make far more than 5K/yr in summer internships/jobs, plus part time in school. Get one of those TA/RA jobs on campus, skipping the first semester. That is a meager amount of money for your dream school. Only hesitation would be cost of living in NYC. Though they have some great deals for students there.</p>
