I am currently attending a CCC and just recently realized it would be my dream to transfer to Berkeley. You will probably think I sound crazy that I am aiming for this goal, but I need some help and guidance.
I currently only have a 3.01 GPA. My first year attending my community college I had many personal things going on and wasn’t contributing my all to school. I didn’t have big dreams, nor did I think i would ever have a chance at going to an amazing school like Berkeley. Over the summer, something clicked. I can’t really explain it, but something within me changed. I started becoming more positive about my life, and more motivated to accomplish things that before I thought were impossible. I visited CAL and i absolutely fell in love. I’ve spend several days looking up ways I can make this happen even though my first semesters performance wasn’t the best. I currently am taking 17 units striving to get the best grades possible (hopefully all A’s) to bring up my UC cumm GPA, but I know even then I won’t have a high competitive GPA. I am hoping to end with a 3.5 GPA, IGETC certified, and pre reqs for my major completed. Do I even have hope at this point? Or any tips that can maybe help my case?
@madsmads This is totally possible! UCs love that upward trend. Get mostly As and Bs for the following semesters. What’s your major? 3.5+ is competitive enough for some majors.
really?! my major is media studies…I wish there was more I could do to increase my chances. I’m just trying to focus on my grades a lot
