I know in some areas there is a growing trend in some business schools for the students to dress up, but has anybody seen this to b the case in MPP/MPA programs? Are people tending to dress up a bit for the sake of impressing people or whatever?

If so (and I don't think it is...but I'm just asking) to what extent to people dress up?

My former roommate is an MPA student and she dresses “smart casual.” You know, not old jeans, a T-shirt, and flip-flops - but nice jeans or a skirt or dress; a nice top, and some casual but nice shoes. When I see the SIPA students she hangs out with they tend to dress “smart casual” too. They’re not wearing suits like the MBA students but they don’t look like the undergrads, either.
