How would you dress to a job interview? Would a suit and tie do the trick, or would dress pants and a dress shirt with a tie be okay?

You want to dress your very best. Like your are getting married.

^ not quite. You wear tuxedos to a wedding, which probably isnt a good idea at an interview, a la the movie “Stepbrothers”

My brother wore a suit when he got married. Of course, he did it in a chapel in Las Vegas!

Husker, my current job allows me to wear shorts (year round if I desire). When I went for the interview, I wore a suit. The rule of thumb is that you wear a suit unless the interviewer specifically says don’t wear a suit. In that case, you want to wear khakis with a nice shirt works.

You always wear a suit to an interview. The only exception would be blue-collar jobs where the position might require you to demonstrate a skill (e.g. a welder or carpenter).
