I wore my pink North Face Fleece today, along with sweatshirt and turtleneck. Wool socks. Come back, spring…we miss you.

Hours by the pool. Got hot.

Hot now here, finally. The dog and I just like to loll on the deck and soak up the sun. No fashion impulse yet - wearing a Hanes tee and costco yoga pants for third straight day. Maybe tomorrow . . .

Please, let’s not date capris! The shorts are now cut either extremely short or long and wide enough to fit my 80 year old mother. I’ll be living in capris this summer.

I like the gladiator sandals that don’t look like you have prison ankle shackles. My all time favorite sandals were from when I was 19 and they wrapped around the ankle with little ties…loved them. I really hope that boots and shorts stays with the under 21 set. I have absolutely no desire to absorb that style into my life. I am happy about the slimmer ankle pants. I had several of them several years ago when capris first came out because I was never a huge capri fan. And yes, warm weather suddenly hit the other day and it feels wonderful.

all this talk of dated capris…yikes… I HATE wearing shorts.

So I ordered white NYMJ’s ankle length. Never tried them before but Zappos returns are SO easy. Worried about the mid waist cut…I generally like lower cut.

If you want a laugh type “mom jeans hulu” into google. Funny SNL skit.

Love love love NYDJ’s. They are so flattering and comfy at the same time. I think that you will be thrilled with how they fit and how good they make you look.

I have to wear low cut jeans cause my waist is so short-if they are supposed to hit me somewhere around my waist- as NYDJ jeans fit me, I look like Ed Grimley on SNL!
Luckily- the low waist fad isn’t going away- the plus side is- I have long legs…for my height ![]()
But it is nice to be able to wear something besides 501’s.

I like capris- it is possible to find something that hits you at a flattering part of your leg. I also like bermuda shorts- but harder to find a shoe to go with it.
I wore my Lucky capris yesterday up to Bellingham- got them at Costco for $15. I also have a pair I paid full price for at Lucky boutique.

I really think that some people just don’t look in the mirror. Or maybe they look at their bottom but not their legs. Last week I saw a woman with the most awkward pants…I guess they were supposed to be cropped, but they just looked like what we used to call “high waters.”

“high waters”…lol…that’s what I’m worried about with these cropped pants. We’ll see.
Anyway, my theory has been that given that I have REALLY long legs, I can get away with capris. But maybe not. They do seem to scream “middle-aged mom”. I even saw some ladies in their 80s wearing them in the airport this weekend. Blah.

Anyway, just got back from a trip with REAL warm weather. Good and bad from a fashion standpoint. I saw some ladies wearing bikinis and really short shorts. And they were quite large ladies. Not the best choice. Also went to theme park on a hot day. Wow. Saw a mix of young girls looking great in their shorty shorts and large folks who should think again about baring so much skin. The hot weather really brings out some interesting choices :)

There are cropped pants that look intentional and some that look unintentional. Seems like a person could tell which is which my looking in the mirror, but not so with some folks I guess.

I always think Stacy and Clinton should do a What Not to Wear: Extreme Heat Edition for those of us who live in areas where the temp tops 100 degrees for sometimes months at a time. I tend to prefer sun dresses to shorts (less around the waist feels better). What I’ve never found is a shapely, supportive bra that can breathe in the heat.

missypie - don’t mail back the swimsuit from Lands’ End. Take it back to your nearest Sears store. then you don’t have to pay postage. Always google for a free shipping code when you order.
Also - I have bought their swimsuits but only on sale. they have marvelous sales. I haven’t had trouble with the fit - usually they are the only thing that looks good on me. I like the ones with the little skirts.

With no traffic, the nearest Sears store is about a 15 minute drive one-way. My husband said he’d be willing to return it when he is headed out that way.

Missypie, maybe you can call Her Room and ask for their suggestions - after all, they are located in Texas and should know what kinds of bras would fit such criteria.

Her Room is great. I second the suggestion.

Along with the term “high waters” we used to say to someone with short pants “expecting a flood?”

Just reporting in to say that I wore the Ralph Lauren ‘Kim Trellis’ dress (from many pages back) to D’s college graduation yesterday and got quite a few compliments, including one from D, which is high praise indeed!

Ann Taylor Loft has shorts on sale for $25 (regularly $40). They have a good variety of colors and sizes. These shorts are very flattering; a little shorter than a bermuda short. I purchased a couple of pairs a month ago and love them as they are the length and fabric I love! I’m going to buy them in a couple of other colors at this price.

[Perfect Everyday 6" Shorts: LOFT](<a href=“Loft : Women's Clothing, Petites, Dresses, Pants, Shirts, Sweaters”>Loft : Women's Clothing, Petites, Dresses, Pants, Shirts, Sweaters)

^^^ You obviously have much better legs than I! Am I jealous.

6" shorts would be illegal on me!
