Dressing Young (Part 1)

^^^actually, probably larger than that. They are probably samples that are large enough to fit the average model’s foot; the average model being somewhere around 5’10"

Okay, that makes some sense. I was looking at some with the very narrow toes and thinking maybe they were sizing up to fit the front of their feet. As you can tell, I am obsessed with finding something that fits the front of my feet. It is so hard to find something that is comfortable in the front that doesn’t flap off in the back.

That is more of a challenge than the whole high heel thing.

except that the whole high heel thing (and gravity) will push your foot to the front of the shoe, often causing the front to feel small.

Oh, darn! As always, Mafool, you have a good point!

I just bought these shoes after seeing them on the Oprah show. I had seen them before but assumed they were too young for me, but the lady on Oprah looked close to my age so I thought I’d give them a try. Cutest shoes ever. And daughter approved, so I’m good to go.

Love that style. Everytime I search zappos, they have nothing in that style in a D width. Saves me money, I guess.

^^^
wow…very cool shoes. And a perfect example of the type of shoe I can’t wear given how tall I am! A bit envious here but…enjoy!
So I did break down and get a pair of tall black suede boots from Zappos. And bought a very good-looking (and very cheap) long black sweater with 3/4 sleeves at Costco yesterday. Now I need some skinny jeans that won’t look stupid on me. Nordstrom’s Rack tomorrow! Can’t wear heels so gotta play up those long legs!

Yes, wow, blankmind! Those are really funky & youthful! I don’t get any youthful outlet from shoes…just Dansko clogs, every day. Good for you!

They are definitely funky. I could never wear heels that high not so much because I am tall, but I killed my feet walking to and from work in heels in my twenties. An inch or two is about all my feet will take. I don’t think I’ve ever seen sandals with a zipper either which makes them unique.

EK–I vote for the Bruno Magli boot–much cuter than the other one.

^^^
But they’re $615! Yikes…
I like those boots posted by Blankmind…long, tall and…flat heels. My kind of boot.

Have you tried Bluefly for boots. Order today and you get another %15 off.

toneranger, I got those boots on sale for $118 at Macys. One of my better finds.

Is Bluefly a reliable place to shop online? I need some wool sweaters and I see they have lots, although I don’t recognize most of the brands.

I have had good experiences with Bluefly. They have a 60 day return policy and they make it simple. They generally sell very high quality brands. I have bought D two Tadashi gowns at over 40% off.

Tonight I quickly ran through a local Nordstrom’s shoe department. Yikes!!! I’m not going back until this sale is over! Zappos is the way to go. My new Sofft sandals should be here any day  Love the no sales tax thing as well.

blankmind, I love those shoes!! I would wear those if I could (can’t wear any heels right now, have a broken metatarsal. Ugh.)

I just bought a Vera Wang Lavender Lable gown on Blue Fly and it is beautiful. It’s a size larger than I usually wear but it fits perfectly and looks so sleek. I would never own a Vera Wang anything if I didn’t go this route.

Bunsen–I’ll shop for shoes at places like Nordstrom’s – get the perfect fit, manufacturer & style, then order online. Very pricey instore, for sure…!

I’ve heard about Bluefly for about 8 years – it sounds like a reliable biz.

coming to this thread is expensive  I just checked out Bluefly thanks to you folks, and bought a pair of boots!
