Dressing Young (Part 1)

Three inch heels while vaccumming? Lol, I would trip all over everything for sure! Then again, I am a dedicated wearer of flats, being almost 6 feet tall.
I am getting myself to the Rack today…should be fun.

Bought three pairs of shoes for D at the Rack on Saturday…all flats…but she did try on a pair of highlighter pink pumps with 5" silver stiletto heels…so if anyone is looking for some of those…

mom60–boots on sale for a few hundred off??? Out of my league!

highlighter pink pumps with silver 5" heels? Intriguing… lol, just kidding (sort of). I think I’m going to have to join a 12 step program for shopa-shoe-aholics.

mommusic- they are tall english equestrian show boots. Also way out of my league. My D talks about the $800 tall boots she is going to buy one day. Yeah. She gets by perfectly well with the least expensive pair of leather tall boots.
I put it out since there are quite a few CCers who ride or have D’s who ride.

I saw a pair of Jimmy Choo boots at the Rack that were $300 marked down from $1000, so I’ve seen (and even tried on ;)) boots that were “a few hundred off!” No, I did not buy them.

mom60, at least tall riding boots last longer than a competition swimsuit! One of D’s friends got some kind of fancy bodysuit for $500 or so, and, apparently, it disintegrates after just a few races, because the chlorine destroys the Lycra in its fabric!

that reminds me I was supposed to get swimmer shampoo for D
:o

My girl is planning on giving herself a certain pair of Jimmy Choos as a graduation present. They’ll be supplanted by another pair, I’m sure, by the time graduation rolls around.

Wow. That is some nice graduation gift. The boots that I tried on were very, very comfortable despite their rather high heels and pointy toes.

Speaking of shoes… I saw this today. Forget about human lives, save the shoes first!!

Click on the pictures - there are some nice specimens in that collection. :)

Forget about dressing young - eat young :)

The article is from Men’s Health, but who says that we, ladies, should not be eating these great foods?

Eggs

Green tea

Garlic

Grapefruit

Greek yogurt

Avocado

Bell peppers

Almonds

Now a question for CC fashionistas: does anyone here shop at H&M? I mean ladies over 30 ;)

Well, the ladies list would include chocolate and red wine…

I was amused to see that among Marco’s fancier shoes was also a pair of those cheap Chinese Mary Jane’s that I lived in when I was in college.

H&M is perhaps the only retail chain on the planet that Dallas doesn’t have. However, I take my Ds there when we’re in NY, Boston, various cities in Europe. When we were in NY this summer, D -16 at the time - anounced that SHE had outgrown H&M. Nontheless, I occasionally find things there for myself. I found a cute gray sweater for myself in NY. Also a lovely fake pashmina for $5. A couple of years ago I bought a cute little black jacket there.

oldfort I think moisturizer is a LOT better than plastic surgery  I use moisturizing shampoo, and moisturizing body wash  Plastic surgery isn’t good for your body I doubt.

Thank you thank you thank you to whomever first posted about herroom.com!

mafool, you are welcome (please don’t buy all of their size 36D bras :)), but the initial credit should go to another CCer who linked a picture of a Wacoal bra on that site on another thread, and that’s how I found out about HerRoom. Thank you!!!

Speaking of bras, there is a brand I’ve never heard about until seeing it on that site - it is called Marie Jo. They make the most comfortable bra I’ve ever worn. It is the second most expensive clothing item I currently own (only my new running tights cost more), but it is so worth the money! If you happen to be in Seattle near UW, stop by Zovo Lingerie store at the UVillage shopping center (there is an H&M in there as well). I went there just to get the sizing for one of the bras I saw online, but ended up buying a couple because they were on sale! I’m ordering another one from HerRoom.

I shop at H&M all the time, or at least when I go shopping. So does my D and my H. We always find great things appropriate for our ages! They have such a huge range of clothes, all inexpensive.

And another thank you for HerRoom.

Reviving this thread to say … I’m in NYC for a long weekend, and have been noticing that everyone, and I mean everyone, is wearing skinny jeans and boots. So much so that I’ve decided to forgo that look. I’ve also noticed it among just about every teenage girl back home. It’s one thing to be fashionable, but another when it starts looking like a uniform. Good news – I can stop shopping for boots.

^^or boots, interesting tights, and really short skirts.

There are so many cute short skirts out there, but I am too old to get away with wearing them. Maybe if I sewed about 3 of them together?

LOL, I was abouto to top this thread yesterday, then I got busy. Yesterday I wore my new KUT jeans from Nordstrom Rack…they looked cute to me, but must be at least quasi mom jeans because they fit me so well.

Do any of you subscribe to a fashion magazine that shows stylish clothes that would look good on the likes of us? I look through my D’s Teen Vogue and so many of hte clothes would look cute on my Ds but definitely not on me.
