That cardigan would definitely be OK with velvet leggings. Would work great for Seattle fall/spring. And for my over-conditioned office in the summer.
Cute coatigan & pants/leggings.
The scarf really makes it! I really like pink and grey right right now and donāt have that color combination in my wardrobe. Iām not sure how heavy it is. I do get hot easy and canāt wear anything with wool in it.
And @deb922 , this would be great with your leggings like @BunsenBurner mentioned!
Funny that the coatigan is listed as āpinkā - it must be a very, very pale pink - I just am not seeing it in the photos on the blog page or the catalog page.
Good price right now for a gift for someone! Also looks like no wool in it.
That coatigan is giving me great ideas about what to wear with my velvet leggings. Thanks.
Alas, itās sold out in my size but I love the colors.
I wish I was not buying anything but I have!
The first is this sweater which I think will go well with the velvet leggings https://www.talbots.com/clothing/sweaters/cardigans-and-jackets/buffalo-check-plaid-sweater-jacket/P194121788.html?cgid=apparel-sweaters-cardigans-and-jackets&dwvar_P194121788_color=BLACK/IVORY&dwvar_P194121788_sizeType=MS#start=1
The next is this sweater https://www.madewell.com/shelley-cardigan-sweater-AD205.html?dwvar_AD205_color=GR6674&cgid=apparel-sweaters#start=78
To wear with high waisted jeans, in the green. Iām really loving madewell right now
@deb922 - I like both of those! Especially the black and cream cardigan.
I donāt think I could personally wear the one from madewell given how long-waisted I am. Iām not tall at all, but have a very long torso. No matter how high-waisted the jeans/pants, I donāt think I could successfully wear that without risk of my old-lady middle being seen - at least occasionally as I moved around.
Very cute, @deb922 ! You could add a pop of color with your cardigan, you! I am long waisted too. I have one shorter sweater I bought from BP last year. I do wear it with my high waisted jeans but still feel a bit self conscious if my bum looks to big.
A few seasons ago I bought three of these, in solid colors wine, black and a purplish navy. Iāve found them to be one of the most versatile and comfy items in my closet. Iāve worn them traveling - both on tropical cruises (those inside areas can get cold), and all through London. If itās cold out I can wear a bra shelf cotton type workout top underneath. If itās warm - just a light sports bra.
They call it a dress, to me itās a tunic.
I always wear leggings - usually soft knit ones from Costco. Or, in warmer environments some fun patterned capri length workout tights.
Depending on the occasion, Iāll wear a nice scarf and a fitted coat.
Iāll wear either my Taos Crave (for a bit of a "kick bumpkinsā look) boots or theseā¦which sadly are no longer available. https://www.orvis.com/p/ariat-york-riding-boots/8x5h. Both of these boots are so comfy I can walk all day.
Oh, in a pinch, a swing dress has been known to stand in as a bathing suit coverup - and then go to dinner later in the day ![]()
I LOVE Ariat boots. They work so well for my feet. I have numerous pairs - some of them over 10 years old. Iām currently eyeing these⦠I think and might just get them for H to put under the tree - I will act surprised.
I love the Madewell sweater @deb922 - I like a short boxy top. Of course Iād wear a t-shirt under it.
I went to Loft today to check it out. It is gorgeous and hangs beautifully. I struggled whether to get it though because like @MomofWildChild said, itās heavy for a cardigan. However, itās not too light for a lightweight coat. I really wanted it to be for my outfit, not to take off. But itās not too warm to run around in and not take off, does that make sense? It is a great piece outdoors for between 35 and 55 degrees, IMO, depending upon if there is no snow, sunshine. Today is 35 degrees and very sunny and I would have felt comfortable running around in that with a sweater underneath.
Anyway, it was haunting me so I bought it. There must be different deals in brick and mortar stores as it rang up at $29!! Even better! Or there is a mistake, but Iām not taking it back.
I bought these while I was there, too! So cute with black booties!
They really are more mauve than pink. Very slimming. I have a longer cardigan that is black and ivory horizontal stripes, (black collar), with a few shinier mauve stripes at the bottom interspersed with the black. I think that will look nice.
Score!!! @conmama $29 is a great deal. Couldnāt afford not to buy it
@deb922 , I love shopping with girlfriends, even through the internet! Haha!
Holy JPMorgan. For $29, it is a great steal! Great job. ?
Just noticed that plus sizes of that coatigan are indeed listed for $29 on the website. Maybe the store marked all of these coatigans down instead of just the plus sizes. Good find!
Anyone needing size 14 and up⦠it is available for $29 online!
@BunsenBurner , that must be it! Thanks for figuring that out. So, if you love the cardigan, run to your local Loft, or order it from the store!
Iām debating what to wear to a holiday party tonight. Black leggings and boots I thinkā¦but for the top? I have a velvet tunic but itās dark blue so not right with black?
I know others disagree, but Iām not a fan of dark blue and black together blocked like that (if itās all mixed in a pattern, I think itās fine).
What else do you have?
@deb922, the XS is showing now on Loftās website.
Holiday colored shirts (emerald green silk, etc) but not as long. @conmama
I think blue and black are odd also, unless I had a scarf with both colors or somethingā¦
I got a velvet legging and it looks fat on me. It looks amazing on a tall person with long leg, I am terribly short.
