Summer designer sales are supposed to be happening… I am not seeing much worth looking at. With the runways and businesses shut down, there might not be much new fashion coming out…
The dress arrived today. 6 days from when I ordered. It’s nice and thick linen material. But it doesn’t have a feeling of softness. It fits me well and I look decent in it but not fabulous. Hard to look fabulous in anything when you are under 5 feet I suppose. It’s in a bigger side of a typical size 0.
Nhatrang,
So, will you return?
I’m trying to limit my on-line ordering to non clothes. Yesterday I ordered a trim line phone, as preparation for hurricanes. I also ordered dog items. All the lovely clothes that come with “no returns” scare me.
@bookworm no I will keep it. I like it enough.
My dresses haven’t arrived yet. I am hoping they come tomorrow.
@Nhatrang my Garnet Hill finally arrived on Saturday. I like the fringed hem dress, I got that one in the teal. I love the color and the pockets. The button front one I ordered in sea salt which is white. It’s very see through and I’m not sure I’ll keep it. I can’t see wearing it with just a bra and underwear, maybe over a swimsuit. Or I’m thinking about a cotton slip under it. I don’t think I have anything in my closet that will work so will need to look online. I have a cotton underneath slip dress that came with a Vince linen dress but it’s way to long for the Garnet Hill dress.
Anyone have a suggestion for a cotton slip dress that goes under another dress. I don’t want traditional slip material. Dress hits just above the knees.
@MomofWildChild how did you like your Rothy sandal?
I do like the Rothy sandal! It has a nice footbed. I normally don’t do well with slides (except Birkenstock) since they seem “slappy”- maybe it’s how I walk! These are cute and comfortable. I’ve worn them several times. I wouldn’t wear them for long walks or anything, but they are cute with summer shorts/dresses- even in the current environment. They have enough material (criss cross) to make them not bare looking.
I know better but got caught in a semi-scam again by buying from a social media ad. The company is called Meridress and I ordered 2 cute summer dresses that would work for work from home. I should have checked the online reviews (they’ve blocked facebook comments…). They are in China and I still don’t have the dresses. The shipping updates are in Chinese (supposedly now the package is in the US). I ordered around June 1. I have demanded my money back and they keep saying to be patient that COVID has delayed the shipping. BS. The suckers sat at Customs, I’m sure. The good news is I’m only out $68 total if they don’t come or I hate them. Unfortunately, I used PayPal which isn’t as easy to get refunds as credit card. I do think they will show up- God knows when. Like I said, I know better. Some people who actually got their items liked them- others did not.
^^^ Did we talk about Meridress on her sometimes not too long ago??? I’ll do a search…
Searched - I must be mistaken, don’t see any reference.
That stinks though!

I thought maybe someone had mentioned Meridress! The products in their ads are all adorable! Hopefully my dresses will arrive and they will be cute!
I think I’m the one who asked about Meridress or something similar awhile back. @MomofWildChild , don’t despair yet! I recently ordered a tankini from Swimicici before I checked it out. Paid on PayPal. My friend did the same thing with another one of the Chinese companies not knowing that either. She got her tankini about 2 months after ordering and it’s darling! Coincidentally, I ordered the exact same one. I hope I get it before summer is over.
I finally made it to Old Navy to try their 5” shorts. I got a couple at 50% off. I picked up a navy blue Eyelet pair that are adorable and it’s the exact same blue as this top (blue floral) I’ll link. I tucked the top in and it looks like they were made to go together. It’s a nice length to wear out and it’s long and lays nice to hide a tummy that way, too. Add a pair of yellow earrings and you’re good to go!
It’s fashion day at amazon. I don’t order clothing from Amazon very often as it’s very hit or miss. But it’s worth a look today.
^^^ Share some finds!!!
I THOUGHT I remembered Meridress. No offense, but the CC search is not very good!
I am on a quest for solid tank tops in a nice variety of colors. I want straps wide enough to cover bra straps but no embellishments, buttons, ruching etc. NOT a cami. Just a nice basic that could be layered, but doesn’t have to be. Form fitting, but not tight. I don’t want cotton. I like the nylon/spandex fabrication. White House/Black Market used to always offer them in neutrals and whatever their colors of their current collection were, and I loved them. They have stopped offering them. This is the only one they currently have:
So, I am looking for something similar. Any suggestions?
@Hoggirl , I used to get similar ones at Chico’s. Same parent company, so give them a try.
@conmama Great call!

@Hoggirl , that’s great! Tons of colors. I still own a couple, but they are a little shorter.
I really like the Chico’s tank, I own them in a few colors. I’ve also heard good things about the tugless tanks from Duluth Trading Co
@deb922 - the “No Yank Tank” does look good.
It’s funny because online reviews complain that the Chico’s tank is too short, whereas some of the reviews on Duluth Trading Co complain that their tanks are too long!
Great then I will get some Chico’s tanks, love short tanks
I can vouch for the fact that Duluth Trading tanks are very long. My husband likes their undershirts so I added a no-yank tank to his order just to try. I thought it was way too long so sent back. Wasn’t something I could wear without tucking in.
