@mon60 it’s interesting that the button front one is see through. But I think that’s the issue with white color, easy to see through. The material on my fringed hem dress was pretty thick. I like it but I wish it’s a little softer feel.
Regarding the cotton slip, I never heard of it lol. I could never wear a dress under a dress though, so restricting…Also it’s a summer dress. Can you exchange it for a different color ?
I think the you’re correct that the problem is the white is easy to see through. I have a couple of other linen dresses that came with a really lightweight slip dress underneath. Basically a cotton lining. I don’t want something thick as that defeats the purpose of a lightweight summer dress. I could exchange it but the only color available in my size when I last checked is the green which I think won’t look good with my coloring. I should probably just return it.
That reminded me if my white linen pants. I do love the white in the summer but always feel a little weird with the see through, but not weird enough for me to not wear it…
There are plenty of cute dresses out there, plus you already have the other dress, I would return if it’s not too much of a pain. But then I have a return-phobia if there is such a thing. I usually just suck it up lol.
Nude (meaning matching your skin color) boyshorts IMO solve the problems of white pants.

For summer dresses, I wear silk slips under cotton or linen dresses, and cotton slips under silk dresses, because they seem to hang better that way, with no riding up… If the garments are 100% cotton, linen, silk, they seem really breathable and cool to me. Summer temps where I live get into high 90s. fwiw
Since I only wear dresses, I’ve done a whole lot of research on this subject lol

Well, I bought this Sofia Vergara jumpsuit from Walmart online (yes, Walmart!). I was a little skeptical but it is well made and absolutely adorable. It does run big, especially in the elastic waist area, so I ordered the small just to see. I ordered the blue tie-dye and the blue floral and will decide which I like better. So cute for under $30. If you are tall, it is long enough. I was concerned about that.

I got some shorts from Spanx. I can’t post the link because my work vpn blocks the Spanx site. Anyway- they are not typical “spanx” and NOT form -fitting. They have several lengths. I think I got the 6" in the dark blue print. They are perfect. Pull on but with belt loops and don’t look “pull on”, if that makes sense. The fabric is great- almost like a high-end athletic wear material but looks dressier. I got the small and could have gone with XS, which is unusual, so they are nice and roomy. So- I know people were asking about shorts options. These are a good one and there is usually a discount code to be found online.
My favorite backpack is the Rebecca Minkoff Julian. I’ve looked at and tried out plenty of backpacks but the Julian is the best imo
