I wore the denim dress that @BunsenBurner spent my money on to an outdoor lunch with my daughter and a friend. After that I had to stop by my office. I felt SO “dressed up” not being in running shorts. I knew I was going to be hot at lunch, so even though the dress is short, I just wore some short Lulu Align shorts under it. Vionic sandals were comfortable.
Yay @MomofWildChild ! Do you like the dress? I find it very comfortable. I am very pleased with all of my summer purchases so far! The eyelet top, the Lulu dress, the Spanx pants, the footwear… I also bought some Vionic sandals. I can walk 3-4 miles in them on the packed dirt trail and asphalt just fine.

I do like it. It’s really hot here, though, so the Lulu dress might have been better but not as good for swinging by the office since I didn’t want to deal with a sweater or jacket. It was over 90 for the outside lunch- even with the shade.
We are going to get some wild weather next week! From 70 to 90 in a day! I have my Lulu dress ready. ?
@BunsenBurner I like the vionic sandals for wearing with the lulu dress or other casual dresses and still being able to walk.
So far, I haven’t found the perfect vionic sandal for me, though. I don’t think I’ve ever tried this one, which is appealing because of all the adjustments. I often find them a little too loose and the ones I’ve wanted have seemed too big in an 8, too small in a 9.
I am always looking for that ideal sandal that you can really walk in. I love to wear casual dresses in the summer if I have the right shoes. Not so much this summer since I never seem to go anywhere…
I’m looking at Vionic sandals on Zappos now. They make it so easy to just order in minutes. I’m normally a 7 but they are suggesting a 6.5 in the ones I’m looking at.
I ordered these shorts from Lulu. It took me about a week of watching them to get my size and color preference, so I guess they’re pretty popular. I hope the 5 inches are a good fit for me. I wanted a color not black or blue, because I think just about every pair of shorts I have is black or blue. If they fit, I’ll keep an eye out for others.

I love Vionic’s as they come in a wide width! I get plantar fasciitis every so often and right now I’ve been feeling that twinge/tingle in my arch, so I’ve been wearing my Vionic flip flops all the time, even around the house (I’m normally barefoot). Only 2 days in and it’s gotten a lot better.
@AnAsmom - I am a fan of Donald Pliner shoes. I have had a few pairs that I have had and used for traveling/walking. They tend to run narrow which I need. I’m surprised the two reviews on that boot are poor - I think they are quite cute and would look great with your skirt.
@orangepurple - good to know about the Charleston shoes. I should look at the flat ones.
We had a FaceTime cocktail hour with another couple last night, and I got dressed in something other than workout clothing and put on my face! It felt great! I wore one of the MANY Haystacks dresses that I have purchased on sale for $19.99. I wore the reverse side of this one - the brown with the groovy lime green and teal flowers. Some fun dangly, gold earrings. I should put on “real” clothes more often.
I am so happy with these little dresses - and since they are reversible, it’s like ten bucks per dress.
@1214mom I like those. I always look for 4" at minimum 5" preferred. The only thing I prefer is a smoother stretchy waistband as opposed to the fully elastic look waistband.
I love that groovy pattern! Very fun!
Have any of you runners or walkers used a product like this? My workout leggings or skorts don’t usually have pockets and I need a place for my phone etc.
@Hoggirl - I like the dress. It seems like it would keep you cool, but no need for a special bra. Reversible sounds useful for travel too. How small would i need to be for size XS? (I am 5’2" pear shaped… usually size 8 pants, in some brands size 6).
@surfcity - no experience with that one but many runners use spi belts. Can I your question in the Exercise thread?.. I don’t think the running dudes who post there poke their heads in this one.
I’ve seen Fusion Belts. They look fine. Agree that the spi belts are popular. I have a couple, but I don’t buy shorts or tights without good pockets anymore.
@surfcity
I use a similar belt to that one except that mine has a buckle not a zip. I find it convenient to use when I’m exercising. It fits my smartphone, has one slot for earbuds and one slot to keep a key. My big bunch of keys doesn’t fit but a small single key ring will.
I’ve started using it for my grocery trips as well because very few of my pants have pockets — my phone has a slot to keep my license and a card. I bought my current one from Miniso but before that I had a bulkier one from North Face.
I would say it would depend on how you want it to fit. The fabric is VERY stretchy and comfortable. I like my clothing fitted, but not tight. I have tried both sizes in Haystacks brand, and I am personally happier with how the small fit over the x-small. For reference I wear x-smalls from Title Nine and Size 2s from White House Black Market (though I think they vanity size). I also found the armholes to be a bit smaller than I liked in the x-small. I’m a C-cup. I could have worn the x-small, but the small is my preference. HTH.
@surfcity I don’t have a Fusion belt but something sort of similar - a Bandi Belt:

Mine has 2-3 "pockets - I can fit my iPhone 8 plus in one pocket. I’ve had mine for a few years and use it when running and walking. I like it kind of tight so it doesn’t bounce too much.
I also just bought one of these - it can fit a little more and I will wear it with my skorts that don’t have pockets. I would wear it for walking but NOT for running just because it’s not stretchy/comfy for running. I mean I could but I prefer the Bandi for running. I bought this one so that I can carry a mask, phone, key, a little cash when I’m out in public but not wanting a purse - like for long walks!

Oh I like these pocket belts, so much better than the fanny pack I’ve been using. I’m too cheap to buy a whole new wardrobe!
I have a couple of fitness belts. I prefer ones that have a clasp rather than the ones that you step into. Right now I am using a bigger lululemon fanny pack as I am carrying more out on the trails.
But my other favorite is the bandi belt in the larger size. It’s perfect when I only need my phone. I don’t think I like it when I need to carry keys.
I think that an XS in haystacks clothing is a 2-4 at the most. I think that an 8 would be more comfortable in a medium. Email them, they are very responsive to inquiries. It’s a small, women owned business. All the clothing is made in Northern Michigan
