Dressing Young (Part 1)

Does anyone have these “jetsetters” joggers from Albion?

I need something to wear to the beach when the weather gets cooler. These look intriguing to me.

@KnearSeattle those Sloggers look perfect! Some reviews say they run small if you want to wear with socks. Do you agree?

@surfcity, Yes, I think they run a bit small. I had to get a 6 because they don’t have 5.5, and they fit well with socks. They also have arch support and are easy to hose off when I step in something I didn’t see. I wouldn’t wear them on a hike, but they are great for gardening or playing soccer and frisbee in the yard with the Demon Dog.

I ordered the jet setters joggers I mentioned in post #10860 in a light khaki color. The petite length is 23.5 and the regulars were 26.5. I would have probably preferred something halfway in between, but since I want them for beach walking, I didn’t want them to be too long. In the online chat, she assured me they were not “cut” petite - they just had a shorter length. I hope that is accurate and that they aren’t too short in the stride. I really wanted black, but they didn’t have them in my size in the petite. I will report back.

I received the AlbionFit joggers today. They are cute and fit well. The length is good, and I like the zippers on the legs. However, the fabric is thin and will NOT keep me warm on the beach when it is chilly. I should have paid more attention to the fabrication. I really want something that is warm and cozy but NOT bulky and still reasonably flattering on. I’ll keep them because they are cute, but they don’t tick off all my desired boxes. :frowning:

So, I did the fall/summer clothing closet switch today. I’m usually look forward to wearing my booties and fall outfits, but not this year. I keep thinking I will be sighing as I look at my oh so cute booties that I’ll have no place to wear in about a month.

I found it rather irritating actually. Those of you in warmer climates that will still be able to go eat outdoors are so very lucky!

It didn’t stop me from buying this jacket on Poshmark for $21…perfect condition. I’ll need to wear it fast this month. Retailed for $88.

@conmama that is a very cute jacket.

Like you, I’m feeling annoyed about transitioning to fall.

So many cute clothes with absolutely no where to go.

I went to the dentist last week, they asked where I was going, my outfit was cute. Here, I replied, I have no where else to go!

Thanks @deb922 , I’d love to have the cami the model is wearing with it.

I totally understand getting dressed up a little to just run errands. Then of course I have to ruin the entire look with the mask.

I just don’t know how we are going to get thru 6 months. 2 months in the spring we almost went bonkers.

I, too, miss having reasons to wear cute clothes and get “fixed.”

My ds has been in an AirBnb with a group of between 7-10 people (fear not - everyone has to be tested before going in) over the past five weeks. Collectively (though I am guessing the girls had more to do with it) they decided to do, “Fancy Dinner Thursdays.” The food isn’t necessarily fancy, but they all “dress” for dinner and wear nicer clothes.

Would doing something like that be helpful for anyone’s spirits? For those that don’t have spouses, maybe zooming with some friends and all getting “fixed” to have dinner or happy hour together.

@conmama I love that jacket too - looks soft and easy to wear!

I realized that while I’m going into work 2-3 days a week and WFT the other days, I am struggling making a fall switch to work clothes. To be honest, I hate cold weather clothing for the most part. Not a sweater person, not a cashmere person, not a pants person, etc.

I realized that while I haven’t been working at home in my PJ’s, I didn’t have to worry about work outfits March-July. When I went back to work in July, I could get by with bare legs and knee length athleisure skirts. Now I’m not wanting to move into another season of clothes decisions!

LOL’ing at dressing up to go to the dentist!

I wasn’t that dressed up for the dentist. Jeans and a blouse. Casual Friday attire. What passes for dressed up these days.

I find that wearing a mask doesn’t affect my looking cute at all. ?

Pretty much all females over 50, especially those who are WFH, are dressing up for their dental appointment in my office. They all say they don’t go anywhere so it’s a legit opportunity to leave the house and get dressed up. We’ve seen some very sharp and stylish outfits.

@deb922 , I think wearing a mask makes me look young though! Ha! Can’t see the jowls.

@deb922 I now have a whole wardrobe of masks to go with outfits. Several cute ones from Anthropology. I use a rotating necklace holder to hold them for easy access.

You guys are going to laugh when I tell you what I bought. I bought butt-lifting underwear…hahaha! It’s not here yet. I have a low riding behind and it’s not getting better as I age. I feel like I look nice in my jeans from in front, then I turn around and my tush looks like it’s getting ready to touch behind my knees.

So, I found these underwear that lift. Sort of look like granny panties, so we will see and I’ll report back. This is why I don’t wear cute leggings with cute little athletic jackets and tops.

In lieu of no show socks, I also bought the Gekks, shoe liners (socks) that adhere to the back of the shoe. Very expensive, but I’d like to try in one pair of sneakers I have. I’ll report back on that, too.

I wore my Coatigan this past weekend. It was chilly, and perfect for outdoor dining, didn’t get too warm at all!

Ahhhh, the Coatigan!!! Do they have a new 2020 edition?!

I have never heard of butt-lifting underwear - be sure to report back on that too - including the comfort level of them!

What is a Coatigan? Yes, let us all know how the butt-lifting item works.

@HighTide2020, the famed “COATIGAN” was a CC bandwagon item from Ann Taylor Loft I think? I think CC made them sell out!!! It was a plaid fallish blazer/jacket - super cute! If you search coatigan in the search box you’d probably find it!

Ahh- thanks. That’s an interesting word. Probably too hot for most of the season in Texas, though. It sounds really cute.

I was just in my closet getting my work out shoes and I realized I hadn’t worn any of my fashion “cute” flat sandals this summer. I’ve worn my summer dresses and shorts but I’ve worn them with Allbird sneakers and Teva sandals. I’ve also not used any of my larger handbags or totes. When your main destination is the grocery store a small crossbody bag is all I’ve needed.
