@HighTide2020 , here is the link to the blogger where I found the Coatigan! I became obsessed, brought it here and we all became obsessed. Several of us bought it, trying to get it at the cheapest price before it sold out! Which it did rather quickly. I think I won at $29, it was a $99 coat I think. It is too warm fur inside really, it’s an outdoor coat for I’d say 45 to 60 degrees. I love it and am always trying to find a place to wear.i even found a black and pink animal scarf like her and mimicked the same outfit last weekend. I felt so Chic.
That is SO cute. Definitely where I live it would be an outside coat, but it would be nice for outdoor events or eating outside on cooler evenings. I hope something like it comes out this season.
I was one who bought the coatigan last year as a result of this thread. I have a think gray sweater and a patterned scarf to pull it all together and it’s all just waiting to be worn. I hope I have an opportunity to wear it this winter!
I bought this top as I was doing some shopping therapy yesterday at our mall. It’s sold out online, but it’s still in the stores if you like it. It runs one size small. I got it for $33, as there was a sale, then 50% off that day. I’m wearing it this Saturday night at a champagne and bistro restaurant outside since the weather is going to be beautiful here. It was our 36th wedding anniversary on Tuesday and it was boring…so I bought this to make up for it, ha! It’s so lush and satiny, more so than in the photos.
I love that blouse! Just hate my flabby upper arms so I steer clear of sleeveless. I need to get those arms in shape (hello Michelle Obama or Jennifer Aniston) so I can start wearing cute tops or dresses
I love the style of that top but wouldn’t be able to wear that color. Does it require a halter bra? Looks really cut in in the arms - does a regular racer back bra work with it?
Gosh - reading reviews, even if it were a good color for me, I know the style wouldn’t work as I am extremely long-waisted. Oh, well. I won’t look for this style in the future. Glad you were able to buy in-store and try it on!
So, my booty lifting underwear came in. It worked well in some ways, but I’m sending them back. They were very comfortable, and from the back it looked must better. Not as much as I was hoping, but a great improvement. The reason they are going back is because of how they looked from the side. It was ok, but it seemed that it pushed it up, but it sort of hung over a little…Not a nice image I know. It’s like there needs to be more substantial material or something at that part.
So I tried on my thigh skimmer spanx. Those actually look really good from all sides, but you can see the outline of he thigh part in my skinny jeans. They also are too high waisted for my liking with pants, I bought them for fitted dresses. They have boy shirts, but reviews say they are really not for big booty gals.
So, I ordered another pair from Amazon for $10 that have good reviews. I’ll let you know about those. I’ve thought of even buying other thigh skimmers and cutting them at the legs.
@conmama I love the blouse in the link. Happy anniversary! We are going to happy hour at the winery my D’s got me a wine club membership to this afternoon. Then we are headed to a favorite Mexican food place for dinner. I think I will wear a maxi dress and sandals since I just gave myself a pedicure.
I really do feel for all of you that won’t have the outdoor dining option soon. We are very fortunate here in San Diego to be able to eat outside year round. I have a few nice cashmere cardigans that will work well this winter when we are outside for meals.
@showmom858 , we love SD! Are you going to that Mexican restaurant where you can see the planes landing? We really enjoyed that one. DH signed up fir the LA marathon in March. If it’s not cancelled, we may be going…with masks and face shields on the plane. It’s going to be a long winter.
@conmama The Mexican restaurant is called Fidel’s and is in Solana Beach which is not too far from the winery we are going to. It has been around for more than 50 years and it is just good unpretentious food and margaritas.
I hope you will be able to make it to LA in March.
LOL… I read "we love SD! " and thought gee, their weather is not so great for winter outdoor dining… then realized it meant San Diego, not the closer SD for me (South Dakota).
Colorado gets a lot of sunshine, so we’ll have some periods of nice sunshine/warmth, unpredictable when … I usually refer to it as “winter respite”. But not sure how many restaurants will be poised to take advantage of it.
@mom60 I have not made any purchases since the few summer things I bought as I am still wfh and just wearing my workout clothes all day and then doing my evening workout in the same clothes.
I would like a stylish crossbody bag that I could use for travel. I prefer a leather bag and like colors that have silver rather than gold zippers, etc. I’m looking to spend less than $300 since I was going to ask for this as a Christmas present. Any suggestions are appreciated.
In central Texas it hasn’t really felt like fall much, except for a couple of days, so I haven’t gotten out many of my fall/winter clothes. Working from home eliminates a lot of them, too. I might look for a couple pairs of new jeans for the next season, but want comfy ones and I’m tall, so length can be an issue. I’ve mainly been buying athletic wear for both exercising and being around the house.
